Stepping Out is a comprehensive program that takes instruction out of the classroom and into the community. Students learn by performing a balanced blend of skills-from shopping to banking to doing laundry-on planned outings. The instructor's guide sets lesson plans and shows how to use materials. Guide covers 30 community outings with implementation plan. Step-by-step analysis is provided for each outing. Has 47 reproducible masters, including: Home questionnaire, training site analysis, progress report, home report, assessments sheets, and dining, shopping and banking aids. Student resources include Stepping Out Cues. Users can catch a bus without telling time, pay for a pair of shoes without math skills, or use the phone without reading a directory. Cues are wallet size, laminated for durability and cover a wide range of everyday life skill needs. Includes 13 unique cues (54 in all) with pocket book.
