A cup system with two interchangeable handles, two types of lids and provision for adding weight.
This cup (T1134-A, order sep.) can be adapted for persons with arthritis, tremors, limited hand use and control. A T-shaped handle and an inverted J-shaped handle provide options in assembly. The cup is clear plastic, 9 oz. (266 ml) in a cup holder. Lids have vent holes for controlling the flow of liquids. One lid is flat for use with a straw. The other lid with a spout for spill-free drinking in a semi-reclined position. Weight can be added to stabilize tremors. Up to three, 2 oz. (57 gm) round weights (T1134-C, order sep.) fit neatly inside the base of the cup holder. Institutional dishwasher safe.

Speech Language Therapy: Beginning Assentive Communication Tip
Here is a tip for children with Cerebral Palsy and other conditions that can affect speech. Try placing two pictures of the two toys that are attached to the switch tops. By pairing the real object with the two dimensional picture, you help your child learn that flat pictures are symbols of the real thing. This is fun way to master an important first step towards using assentive communication and computers.
